Before / After school clubs

Does your school require a before and after school club?

Active8 Minds currently run wraparound care in schools between 0730-0845 and 1500-1800, Monday to Friday in schools throughout Hampshire.

  • Our clubs are perfect for parents looking for a safe and structured environment to drop their children off at prior to an early start or collect from a later finish at work.
  • Previous research has suggested that morning physical activity for children can awaken the mind and give a heightened state of concentration and readiness.
  • The club runs on the school site which reduces the risk of children commuting from an alternative morning club in the area.
  • Children attending before and after school club is a cost effective, engaging and alternative solution to using a childminder
  • After school clubs introduce children to a variety of sports games and creative activities each term. Games and activities are suitable for all ages and abilities.
  • All bookings are made through our online booking portal and are independent of the school. We provide the school with registers, risk assessments and insurances.
  • Where necessary, our clubs are registered with Ofsted. We also accept childcare vouchers and government tax scheme vouchers.

PE / PPA cover

All curriculum PE/PPA is planned and delivered by our expert team.

During PE cover and PPA cover, Active8 Minds staff provide adaptable lesson plans which cater for all abilities. Progression, feedback and assessment of each skill or technique is crucial to development. Gone are the days of having a coach bring a bag of balls and letting the children “get on with it”. It is now time to deliver Physical Education that is relevant, age appropriate, progressive in nature ( but adaptable to each individual) and a session filled with positive and specific feedback.

Lunchtime clubs

A member of our team will run fun, safe and engaging lunchtime games and activities. A good one for small or large numbers that’s inclusive too!

HAF project 2021/22 – LINK

Active8 Minds are proud to be working with both Portsmouth City Council and Hampshire County Council as part of the Holiday Activities and Food Programme.

This scheme provides an opportunity for children in receipt of benefit related free school meals to take part in fun holiday activities whilst encouraging them to eat well.

Active8 Minds will be running holiday clubs for children aged 5-11 years at various locations over the school holidays in Portsmouth and Hampshire. Please email our friendly booking team to claim a booking form and find out more!

Club Information for Eligible Families
Active8 Minds holiday clubs are engaging, high energy and fun! Children have the opportunity to try out lots of sports and active games including dodgeball, soft archery, spy camp and much more! Children will be getting creative with our craft activities which include glueing, cutting, painting and colouring. Be prepared for some wonderful works of art to hang on your fridge!
What to bring
During the holiday club children will be taking part in lots of fun and active sports and games so please ensure children are dressed in comfortable clothing (tracksuits are ideal!) and have trainers. No flip flops, crocs or open toed shoes please!
All children will need a refillable water bottle and a healthy snack.. (Funded children will receive a free hot or cold lunch choice each day)
Please ensure your child is dressed for the great British weather…coats, sun protection, hats and gloves!
All medical equipment must be labelled and handed over to a member of staff upon arrival.
If your child requires any additional support, please contact our booking team to discuss.
