Meet the team

Hi, I’m Dan Janowski

After completing my ten years in the Royal Navy, I enrolled at Solent University to study a BSc (hons) in Sports Coaching, earning a 1st Class degree.

Together with my previous business partner, Active8 Minds® was developed in 2014, during my final year of university.

Since 2014, I have surpassed our goals and branched out into new regions. I’m excited about the prospect of further expansion and am thrilled to have introduced our first franchisee to the Winchester region.

I am sincerely appreciative of my family and friends’ support, and I consider myself extremely fortunate to have such a fantastic team on my side.
My main objective is to keep people of all ages active and to make sport and activities FUN, ENGAGING, and available to everyone!

In my spare time, I like to cook, stay in shape, socialise with friends, and watch Manchester United, the football team I grew up supporting. If I’m not at work or spending time with my family, you can find me on a local golf course, futilely attempting to lower my handicap. at the present moment, 14.4

Hi, I’m Claire

Since 2015, I have worked for Active8 Minds. I worked as a Parent & Child Multiskills Coach for the company on a part-time basis, teaching a variety of classes. I later advanced to an Office Assistant position where I worked in sales and customer service.

My position has changed since then, and I am now the business manager. I am responsible for customer service, business relations, sales and company development. I recently earned a distinction in both a Level 5 Business, Management, and Leadership Course and a Level 2 AAT course.

I have experience in sales, customer service, and fitness, and I like every aspect of my job and working with the Active8 Minds tem. I’m passionate about encouraging children and adults to be active and raising the popularity of the Active8 Minds organisation.

Hello my name is Gaz Plow, I am the Staff Development Officer at Active8 Minds.

I have worked for Active8 Minds since early 2021, but I have been in the coaching industry for over 8 years. I really enjoy teaching PE in our local schools whilst supporting the Active8 Minds team to become accomplished coaches and playworkers.

As I earned coaching credentials, I began my coaching career by working for the School Sports Partnership in the community where I lived. I now have the chance to complement our amazing team by applying my coaching knowledge and expertise.

I enjoy playing all sports such as Football, Golf and Ultimate frisbee.  When I am not at work or playing sport I enjoy spending time with my family and especially my daughter

Hi, I’m Elliot,

I began working with Active8 Minds many years ago as a part-time multi-sports coach.  I later advanced to a full-time position as a Lead Sports Coach, and I am currently the company’s Wellbeing Officer. As part of my job, I provide advice and assistance to Active8 Minds staff members regarding their overall welfare. I am also frequently accessible to our team for support and direction. In addition, I assist the operations staff with numerous tasks throughout the week while encouraging children in our facilities to have positive mental health.

In addition, I plan social gatherings and other activities that our employees can enjoy and take part in frequently. Along with this, I contribute everyday to other projects, both new and ongoing, across the organisation.  I take pleasure in planning engaging team-building activities and social gatherings for the Active8 Minds team.

I enjoy hanging out with friends, going to sporting events, trying to play most sports, and enjoy anything animal-related when I’m not at work.  I enjoy playing football and have supported Portsmouth FC for many years.

Hi, I’m Jonno.

I have been with Active8 Minds since 2022.  I joined the company as a Lead Sports Coach, coaching at our wraparound care provisions before progressing on to become an After-School/ Holiday Club Manager.  At the start of 2023 I progressed into my current role, Community Activator.  I am responsible for organising and delivering provisions to local communities across Hampshire, for all ages and abilities.

I love working with all aged children and adults from different backgrounds.  Seeing the impact that our sessions have on each and every one of the participants each day is definitely the most rewarding part of my work!

When I’m not at work, I am busy managing my local U16’s grassroots football team, watching Pompey or getting lost whilst walking my dogs!
