Meet the team:

Hi, I’m Dan Janowski Co-Founder of Active8 Minds Ltd.  I have been coaching children in sport since 2007.  I spent 10 years in the Armed Forces where sport and fitness were key components to being healthy and active.  I have a BSc (Hons) 1st class degree in Sports Coaching as well as a Diploma in Sport Science.  I hold a variety of coaching qualifications such as: Multi-Skills, Principles of Coaching and Dodgeball (All Level 2 Coaching awards), Football Level 1, Tag Rugby, SAQ, Athletics Level 1, Create Development KS1 and Boccia Teachers Award.

I am passionate about ensuring our coaches deliver exceptional, relevant and age/ability appropriate sessions to all children.  Sport should be exciting, fun and straightforward. I am particularly keen on promoting maximum exposure and access to a variety of sports for all school children.

When I’m not with my 3 beautiful children, who keep my extremely busy, in my spare time (not quite sure what that actually is any more) I enjoy going for runs (5 miles is my limit), playing tennis and cooking at home.

Hi, I’m Jodie Sheppard Co-Founder of Active8 Minds Ltd. I have 3 children, lead the local beavers group and spent the last 16 years at a large IT company where I secured my prince 2 accreditation in project management. I am passionate about keeping our children active and engaging them in fun activities that improve health and sporting ability. I pride myself on good customer service and open communications.

Hi, my name is Sean Harris and I work with Active8 Minds as a Lead Sports Coach.  I have been coaching children in sport for over 10 years.  On my BA (Hons) degree in Football Studies, various aspects of the sport, from coaching to the sociological aspects of football were covered.  I previously studied and gained my HSLA award for which I engaged in a minimum of 100 hours of coaching.  I am always looking to expand my coaching knowledge, experience and coaching portfolio further by attending CPD’s and additional NGB coaching awards in a variety of sports.

I enjoy participating in many different sports such as squash and tennis. Feedback is a key component of my coaching and I welcome this.  I enjoy providing a variety of sessions with children of all school ages.

Lee Davis

Hi, my name is Lee Davis.  Over the past four years, I have acted upon a wish to become involved in promoting and developing opportunities in sport, particularly for anybody with a disability. Being visually impaired and having set myself a challenge to see what I can achieve within sports coaching, I have surprised myself.  I currently hold a variety of coaching qualifications at Level 2.

I have a proven track record, in both development and co ordination of football and multi sport activities. I coach both non-disabled and disabled children

If I was going to describe myself I would say I was reliable, honest and keen to learn. I enjoy new challenges and work around the difficulties that my disability can pose to me, to find a solution. I think that others would describe me as patient, calm and loyal.
